At ALPHAequipt, we take the utmost pride in developing our products. Here are some features you will find on our wheel line.

Optimal Offsets

Alpha wheels are designed with offsets that will deliver maximum performance to your vehicle both on and off road and whether you’re headed in a straight line on the highway or crawling on a rock face in Moab. We understand people may like a deep dish whereas others want a flat face, we take both into consideration with a high emphasis on structural integrity and minimizing stress on the wheel bearings and hub. We strive on filling the fender properly while being functionally aggressive.

Scrub Radius

One of the most often overlooked variables in suspension and wheel fitment is scrub radius. in layman’s terms, it’s the point of intersection of the center of the tire and the imaginary line angle of the suspension column. in an ideal situation, the axis should cross right at the center of the tire to give zero scrub radius which would be in favor of driving dynamics.

When the wheel offsets are too positive or negative, adverse effects such as excessive toe-in/out, tracking, and excess load on wheel bearings can occur. scrub radius is highly taken into consideration on every alphaequipt wheel spec, function over form takes priority in these fitments.

Airing Down

One of the most effective ways of increasing traction in off-road environments is to lower tire pressure on all four corners on your multi-ply tire. Most people refer to this as "airing down," here at ALPHAequipt we like to call it "Party Time."

By lowering the PSI, the tire's contact patch expands as the pressure lowers which gives the driver to attack hazards and obstacles with increased traction. shown in the illustrations above, 30 psi is typically what is used on the street where the asphalt is more forgiving on giving grip to the vehicle. off-road environments often give the greater chance of tire slippage due to dynamic surfaces that include dirt, gravel, and sand. thus, a bigger contact patch shown at 10 psi would be optimal for these austere environments.
