It's unfortunate, however older vehicles just don't come apart or go back together the way new vehicles do! We really wish that wasn't the case but the time needed for us to remove and replace a bolt on an older and/or higher mileage vehicle tends to be a bit longer.
This helps cover shop time used up by pre lubing parts, cleaning, tapping and or additional fitment, bushings and or TLC that is required with worn parts vs fresh late model parts.
Depending on Inspection and Vehicle condition, We May have to charge a surcharge in the estimated total labor for older vehicles as described below.
Charges are based on the age and/or mileage of your vehicle.
More than 5 years old or over 75K miles = 5% Labor Surcharge (2016 or older)
More than 10 years old or over 100K miles = 10% Labor Surcharge (2011 or older)
More than 15 years old or over 150K miles = 20% Labor Surcharge (2006 or Older)
